1939 BMW 326 by DominikScherrer
1939 BMW 326
I just finished this drawing yesterday and just had to post it now.
It is a commissioned piece done on a4 bristol smooth pad. Tools used: Warm grey markers, white coloured pencil, white gel pen and just a little bit of black gouache for the windows. It took about 14 hours to finish and I'm really satisfied with the outcome.
Sadly the warm shades of grey markers where empy so they nearly drove me crazy but it still worked somehow.
Big Smoke by DominikScherrer
Big Smoke
The car is a '64 chevy malibu ss i guess.
This was another experimental piece. I painted the background with watercolors and the colored the car using markers.
I'm not 100 percent satisfied with the background and details/smothness of the car but I guess it looks pretty nice.
It's about 36cm x 18cm on watercolorpaper. The quality is not the best because I had to take a photo.
The photo was shot by Haubakk
Havana Kustoms by DominikScherrer
Havana Kustoms
This drawing was a experiment. First I drew the car, which is a '51 Cadillac DeVille by the way, on a A3 sized bristol board and cut it out. Then I tore some paper out of a spanish magazine from the 30s and created the background of the piece; the girl was also cut out of that magazine. After that I stuck the cut out Kustom Car on that background and added a few words to the piece using watercolor et voila, the piece was done. It was just fine to choose cuba as a theme because the Kustom Car and the spanish vintage background fitted perfectly together.
The car was done with markers, coloured pencils, pastels and white gouache and the whole piece must have taken me between 20 and 25 hours to finish.
I really appreciate your feedback so don't hesitate to tell me what you think.
I've got my first Magazine Feature in issue 3/13 of Truckin' Magazine.
That's just awesome...

tres kewl! I didn't know about Truckin' Magazine. I was a writer and editor for 30 years of a trucking newspaper -- only it covered the 80,000-pound over-the-road variety. 'S allright. "Truck" is the big guy on the asphalt.

I once owned a 1961 Corvette . . . if only . . .
